
Mercedes-Benz partners with Google to create Next-Generation navigation experience

The premium manufacturer will now have access to Google's comprehensive geospatial offering, which includes comprehensive location data, real-time and forecasted traffic data, automatic rerouting, and more. Customers will benefit from a better navigation experience thanks to the inclusion of these capabilities in the future Mercedes-Benz Operating System (MB.OS), which will be simple to use and display stunning graphics on the high-resolution screen of the vehicle. The firms will integrate the YouTube app into the Mercedes-Benz infotainment system to assist improve the user experience. Mercedes-Benz will also use the data from Google Maps to allow functions that help drivers, such as automatic speed adjustments before crossroads, roundabouts, and curves.

Mercedes-Benz will initially provide clients with access to Google Location Details, which will enable them to obtain comprehensive details about more than 200 million businesses and locations worldwide, including business hours, images, ratings, and reviews. Starting today, all vehicles equipped with the most recent MBUX generation in the relevant markets will be able to access Location Details.
The businesses decided to investigate deeper cooperation using the industry-leading open infrastructure, data, and artificial intelligence (AI) solutions offered by Google Cloud. For instance:
Mercedes-Benz plans to employ the AI and machine learning capabilities of Google Cloud to quickly develop, train, and deploy new models and improve consumer experiences.
Data: To analyse fleet data, Mercedes-Benz plans to employ the quick and effective data processing platform provided by Google Cloud.
Open Infrastructure: Mercedes-Benz intends to use Google's open infrastructure to safely develop and scale across Mercedes-current Benz's technological environment from on-premises to the edge to the cloud.
