
Infosys has formed ESG committee with Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw as its head

Infosys Ltd has formed an Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) committee of its board, with Members of Infosys’ ESG committee include Chitra Nayak and Uri Levine, independent directors on the company’s board. Mazumdar-Shaw, is the head independent director here.
The ESG Committee will meet periodically and guide the board in discharging its oversight responsibility on matters related to organisation-wide ESG initiatives, priorities, and leading ESG practices, as per the statement.
“We are pleased to institute this new committee of our board focused on accelerating the integration of ESG factors into everything that we do as a business,” stated Mazumdar-Shaw, who is chairperson and managing director of Biocon. “This initiative will help us nurture a well-governed model to realise the many aspirations on our ESG roadmap.”
The company reiterated its continued emphasis on furthering environment, social and governance causes, by saying its ESG Vision 2030 in 2020. This is part of Infosys’ long-standing commitments focused across core areas: climate change, technology for good, diversity and inclusion, energizing local communities, ethics and transparency, data privacy, and information management.
The past year also saw Infosys turn carbon neutral 30 years ahead of 2050, the timeline set by the Paris Climate Agreement, company stated.
